PROJECT SOAR OFFICERS
Maryam Montague is Project Soar’s President and co-founder. An American born in Egypt and based in Africa for the last 17 years, Maryam has devoted her career to international humanitarian aid, with 20+ years’ experience in over 25 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. She has been cited in more than 50 media, and has been featured on CNN, the Lehrer News Hour, BBC, the Travel Channel and Al Hurra. Currently based in Marrakech, she owns Peacock Pavilions, Marrakech’s do good design hotel, as well as the M.Montague Souk, a give back shop, both of which support Project Soar.
Chris Redecke is Project Soar’s Vice-President and co-founder. An American architect, Chris’s work has included a number of humanitarian-focused projects, including designing a Tibetan refugee clinic and an orphanage in Kathmandu, as well as a rural health post in Namibia. He has volunteered time at Operation Smile and at DC Cares. A social entrepreneur, he lives in Marrakech with his wife and children where he runs the social businesses, Peacock Pavilions and the M.Montague Souk.
Michelle Hirschfeld, a member of the founding team, serves as the Director of Project Soar. A deep love of travel and culture has driven Michelle to live and work around the world, calling places such as Boston, Australia, Hawaii, Greece, Chicago and Morocco home. Michelle has a degree in Hospitality Management from Boston University and has spent 20 years in the industry. She has recently transitioned into non-profit educational travel, with a focused mission of providing intercultural travel experiences with the aim of building a more tolerant world. She currently resides in Cambridge, MA with her husband, Faysal Chadimi, an artist and member of the Project Soar's Moroccan based Board of Directors.
Kaydee Dahlin, a member of the founding team, serves as the Project Soar Treasurer. She is a also certified Holistic Health Coach specialized in nutrition, fitness, and mind/body/spirit balance. She teaches yoga, dance, and works privately and in groups with clients on health programs that help them lose weight and lower blood pressure, cholesterol, inflammation and get fit. She is a mother of two young children and her offerings have expanded to include pre and post-natal yoga dance and nutrition, as well as "Baby and Me", family fitness, and kids yoga and dance classes. Before becoming a health coach, Kaydee managed women’s empowerment and civil society projects for U.S. foreign aid efforts in the Middle East and Haiti for more than a decade, including 7 years living in Morocco, Egypt and Turkey. Kaydee holds an enduring love for Morocco and girls empowerment work and she is delighted to contribute to the efforts of Project Soar as the Treasurer and DC-based Officer.
Skylar Montague Redecke is 14 years old and is Project Soar’s Youth Advocate. An avid sports enthusiast, Skylar coaches the Project Soar Running Club. She represented Project Soar as a keynote speaker in Marrakech at the YouthSpeak Forum, the world’s largest youth-led organization. Skylar is the recipient of her school’s Math Award, Science Award and Citizenship Award. She is on her school’s varsity basketball, as well as the track team and soccer team. She has competed twice in the Annual Middle School Math Competition, held the last two years in Luxembourg and Switzerland.
